Summer in Chicago

We can’t believe it’s already mid June! Summer is flying by and we’re here to catch you up on all the happenings downtown. So as you continue to enjoy this beautiful Chicago summer there’s a few events you should definitely keep in mind!

This summer take advantage of working out outside! If you reside in one of the fabulous high rises that the neighborhood of Millennium Park is famous for, head over to the park and participate in one of the 45 minute yoga, zumba or Tai Chi classes they offer on the big lawn. You’ll get the endorphins from exercise and that good ol’ vitamin D from the sunshine.

If exercising outside isn’t your thing (we get it sometimes that pollen count is just too much!) Millennium park also offers a summer music series, it’s free admission and features upcoming and established artists. So assemble your picnic basket and grab some friends and enjoy!

A personal favorite summer event is the Taste of Chicago. Located conveniently in Grant Park on Randolph Street, people flock from all neighborhoods to embrace their inner foodie. If you happen to live in the Loop, Printers row or Streeterville it’s basically located right outside your front door and who cant resist the smorgasbord of cuisine this festival has to offer! Entrance is free and you can purchase as many food/drink tickets as you’d like.

And speaking of amazing Chicago neighborhoods, we can’t say good enough things about the incredible neighborhood of Wicker Park. Hosts of the annual Wicker Park fest (July 28-30) this three day extravaganza features more than 50 musical groups and more than 80 plus vendors (food, boutiques, art etc.) that celebrates the neighborhood’s rich culture and vibrant atmosphere. So as you enjoy the fest, take a minute to take in the tree lined streets and old loft buildings, we promise you won’t want to leave and we’re here to help if you want to call this (or any other) neighborhood your home!

Last but certainly not least, Chicago’s famous air and water show is a can’t miss. It takes place in August (19-20) and the views from the Gold Coast are spectacular. If you live in the Gold Coast neighborhood don’t be surprised if your friends and family want you to host a viewing party. These buildings have amazing rooftops and amenities so invite your guests and make a day of it!
