Construction Update – 1000M
As new highrises break ground we are excited to keep everyone updated and in the loop!
Our highlight this week is the 1000M highrise, located at 1000 S Michigan Ave in the South Loop. This 74 story building was one of the last buildings designed by the late Helmut Jahn. It is being developed by Time Equities, JK Equities and Oak Capitals and originally broke ground in late 2019. Construction was then halted at the start of the pandemic and went through financing changes.
Now reworked as a luxury apartment tower it will stand at 805 feet and house 738 luxury apartment units that will range from studios to 3 bedroom penthouse level units. There will be garage parking with 325 spaces as well as 356 bike spaces. This building will offer state of the art amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, rooftop bar and lounge, and golf simulator to name a few. With the city approving a full building permit earlier this year we can’t wait to keep you apprised of the construction progress of these luxury South Loop apartments overlooking Grant Park. (2025 anticipated completion).
