As we continue to emerge from the past couple of years, our four footed furry friends probably still want to tag along with us…everywhere! And who can blame them? Enjoying the last few weeks of summer definitely includes dining al fresco and there are so many great options that welcome Fido too! 1. Lou’s Backyard (664 W Lake)
In the mood for some amazing ‘feel good’ food and a great cocktail? Lou’s backyard in the West Loop is the place to be. Their patio is dog friendly. Enjoy a round of bocce or connect four and relax with a well deserved cocktail while enjoying the Chicago summer.
2. Parlor Pizza (108 N Green)
With their Neapolitan inspired pizzas and expansive patio, there’s something on the menu for everyone! The pizzas sport great names like “Burrata Be Kidding Me” and “Cheesus, Mary & Joseph” and the atmosphere is lively and fun, so sneak that piece of pepperoni to your canine best friend and enjoy!
3. Duck Duck Goat (857 W Fulton)
Helmed by famed Chef, Stephanie Izard (Girl and the Goat), this Chinese American restaurant has a fabulous outdoor patio during the summer. People watch (your dog will also probably make a few new friends) as you dine on the scrumptious house made dumplings and definitely try the Duck & Goat spring rolls. If you’re dining as a group, the Peking Duck is a must!
4. Kuma’s Corner (852 W Fulton)
Looking for a delicious gourmet burger with all the fixin’s? This is your place! Everything is made fresh and the patio is dog friendly, just don’t be surprised if your pup is chomping at the bit for a bite of these delectable burgers. They also have 32 beers on draft – so arrive thirsty!
5. Bandit (841 W Randolph)
It’s edgy, cool and a bit nostalgic just like the West Loop. This restaurant really stands behind their dog friendly patio status, here your best friend can eat just as well as you! With a “Bandit’s Pup Picks” menu that features options from skirt steak to “Woof cream” your pup will not go hungry! And don’t worry neither will you, chow down on some small bites like the Kung Pao Cauliflower or try the crispy chicken sandwich! Finish off the evening with a crisp craft cocktail before enjoying the stroll home with your very happy and satisfied pup.
